JP Hampilos

JP Hampilos, PhD
Assistant Administrator and Owner

Since acquiring Little Brook, JP and Little Brook’s management have applied the hands-on model of management known as “management by walking around.” Furthermore, JP believes that a senior’s golden years should be about living in peace, happiness, dignity, comfort, safety and good health and that our Residents deserve excellent and comprehensive high skilled nursing care. This is Little Brook’s mission. He also believes that providing this care is not a job, but a calling. This nursing care philosophy is what Little Brook is about. It is rare that a philosophy—or a set of beliefs—is realized. But, at Little Brook it truly is!  Since 2005, Little Brook has had five “NO DEFICIENCY” New Jersey State Surveys, earned 5-Star ratings (from CMS1—the federal government reviewer U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) several years in a row, and for 2018-2019 Little Brook was rated as “One of the Best Nursing Homes in the U.S.” by U.S. News and World Report2.  These achievements have complemented Little Brook’s reputation in the community from Mendham to Frenchtown and Washington to Readington.

Quick Facts

Little Brook Nursing & Convalescent Home (“Little Brook”) was founded in 1955, by Dr. Jorgensen who believed in caring for his community’s elders, was licensed as a New Jersey Skilled Nursing Facility in 1960, has had only four local family ownerships in over 69 years and has many weathered several financial, personnel and clinical crises—most recently the COVID-19 Pandemic and its financial sequelae.  As a minority owned, local, small business, Drs. Rosa Maria Fernandez and her husband, John P. Hampilos, have owned Little Brook for almost two decades and proudly employee over 40 local citizens as staff members who care for their Residents. To date, their stewardship and their staff’s execution of policies and practices resulted in no Resident deaths from COVID-19. Also, none of their staff members passed away from COVID-19. Little Brook is grateful to the Federal, State and Local governments for supplies, funding and guidances.
